Degrees, Certificates, and Awards
Please Note: In addition to Associate of Arts (A.A.), Associate of Science (A.S.), and Associate of Arts in Teaching (A.A.T.) degrees, Texas Southmost College offers Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees, Level One Certificates, and Level Two Certificates. A.A.S. degrees and certificate programs of study are designed to lead the recipient to immediate employment and/or career advancement. Programs are composed of an orderly, identifiable sequence of courses designed to meet specific occupational competencies and outcomes. It is important to note that A.A.S. and certificate courses may not transfer to other institutions of higher education. Texas Southmost College offers Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), and Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) degrees, as well as Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees, Level One Certificates, and Level Two Certificates. AA, AS, and AAT degrees are designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year or upper level college or university. These degrees include general education courses such as English, Mathematics, History, and Government, which are part of the 42-hour Core Curriculum requirement for most baccalaureate degree programs in Texas.
