Bachelor of Applied Technology in Organizational Management

Program Purpose

The Bachelor of Applied Technology in Organizational Management prepares students for a variety of career paths. Graduates in this program are equipped with skills to become effective leaders, navigate challenges, improve operational efficiency, leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and to lead their organizations to fulfill their strategic goals. In addition, human skills such as critical thinking, empathy, and creativity, will also be incorporated. This program will prepare students for the future of an ever-changing work environment.  The coursework focuses on leadership, entrepreneurship, communication and conflict resolution, negotiation, business planning, operations management, critical thinking, problem solving, and leading teams. These skills will prepare you for a position of leadership in business, government, non-profits, and educational organizations. This degree can open doors to exciting new career opportunities, advance within your own organization, or advanced academic degrees. The organizational management curriculum is offered year-round in eight-week terms in traditional, hybrid, and online. All 120 hours of instruction are available 100% online.

The program requires a capstone course where students will have the opportunity to apply what they have learned in a number of ways. Every organization requires both leadership and management. Students in this program will be prepared for both.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will earn following credential:

  • Bachelor of Applied Technology in Organizational Management

Application Requirements

  • Applicants with completed Associate’s degree.
  • Applicants with prior college level coursework but no Associate’s degree must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5; Exception based on extenuating circumstances must be approved by the Vice President of Instruction.

Degree Completion Requirements

Complete the appropriate coursework of study for a Bachelor of Applied Technology as specified in the College catalog.
Developmental and other non-credit coursework does not apply toward graduation requirements.
Texas Southmost College may accept a maximum of 90 semester credit hours of applicable coursework transferred from another accredited college or university towards a Bachelor of Applied Technology.
Completion of 30 semester credit hours of 3000-4000 level courses at Texas Southmost College.
Maintain a minimum average of “C” (2.0 GPA)

Pending Approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The Bachelor of Applied Technology in Organizational Management prepares students to broaden their careers and increase opportunities for promotion to supervisory positions.

FAQ

How long does it take to complete the program?
This bachelor program is designed to be completed in one year, but each student’s pace may vary. Taking longer than a year is perfectly acceptable.
How much time will I need to commit to coursework and assignments?
The time required for coursework and assignments varies by class. On average, you should plan to spend an additional 5–7 hours per class each week outside of scheduled class time to prepare and complete assignments.
