Statement of Purpose

The Business Management and Technology degree program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of business management principles and modern technology applications. The interdisciplinary program integrates business concepts with technological tools and strategies, preparing students to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving business environment. Students develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to succeed in business and technology-related roles through coursework, hands-on projects, and experiential learning opportunities.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will earn:

  • Associate of Applied Science – Business Management and Technology, or
  • Level 1 Certificate – Administrative Management

Who the Program Serves

The program is open to students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels who are seeking to enter the field of business. Earning an associate degree in business also provides people already working in the field with opportunities to earn a salary increase or qualify for a promotion.

Our students include:

  • Students seeking to enter the business field directly upon earning their associate degree. Graduates are well-positioned to succeed in roles that require a combination of business acumen and technological expertise, making them valuable assets to organizations across various industries—see a range of job titles in the Career Options section below.
  • Graduates from the program may choose to continue their education with TSC by pursuing the Bachelor of Applied Technology on Organizational Management.

Skills and knowledge you will gain

Students in this program will learn the following:

This program leads to a number of positions in the field, including:

  • Project Manager: planning, executing, and closing projects, managing resources, leading teams, and overseeing schedules
  •  Human Resource Generalist: managing core human resources functions like recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, serving as a key contact for employees and manager, and ensuring smooth daily
  • Administrative Assistant: handling communications, organizing files/databases, preparing business documents, assisting with bookkeeping, and support managers
  • Entry-Level Supervisor: overseeing daily tasks, guiding teams, ensuring productivity, enforcing policies, meeting operation goals and link between staff and upper management
  •  Customer Service Representative: answering questions, resolving issues, processing orders by email or chat, ensuring satisfaction by providing product information, documenting interactions, and escalating complex problems
  •  Correspondence Clerk: drafting replies to inquiries about claims, billing, services, or general info, handles written communications (mail, email) and ensure professional, timely responses to customers and internal staff
  • Procurement clerk: compiling requests, preparing purchase orders, tracking orders and supplies, and communicating with suppliers and customers to ensure timely delivery and correct specifications, requiring skills like attention to detail and problem-solving

  • Career Services: TSC’s Transfer, Career, and Employment Services team assists students in mapping out college transfers, shaping career aspirations, and aiding in post-graduation job placements.
