NCCER Core
Introduction to Basic Construction Skills prepares individuals for entry-level positions on project sites by providing the basics in safety, hand and power tools, construction math, materials handling, construction drawings, rigging, and employability skills. The construction industry recognizes this competency-based program throughout the country. The knowledge and skills established in Core are the foundation on which successful construction careers are built.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand workplace safety: Graduates should understand the importance of maintaining a safe workplace and comply with regulatory requirements and engineering limits.
- Graduates should also be able to create a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for any project and stay compliant with OSHA regulations.
- Workplace injury prevention: Graduates should understand how to prevent workplace injuries, manage risk, and investigate incidents that happen on job sites.
Upon completion of the program, students will receive:
- TSC Certificate of Completion
- NCCER Core Certificate
- Occupational Skills Award. OSAs emphasize practical, hands-on training aligned with industry standards to ensure relevance and value in the job market.
