Electrical Technician
Course Description
The Electrical Technician Program is an introduction to electrical principles, terminology, tools, and skills. Students will learn electrical principles and terminology, how to properly use the tools and skills needed for installation, practical application of electrical systems, computation of circuit sizes, and installation of branch circuits, feeders, and service entrance conductors. This class also includes wiring for residential and medium-sized commercial facilities, including loading calculations, service entrance sizing, proper grounding techniques, and associated safety procedures.
This 14-week electrical program has been designed to deliver the skills you need in a short period so that you can enter this in-demand occupation quickly.
Upon completion of the program, students will have the opportunity to receive:
- Be able to register as an Apprentice Electrician in the state of Texas
- Occupational Skills Award. OSAs emphasize practical, hands-on training aligned with industry standards to ensure relevance and value in the job market.
- OSHA 10-Hour Certification
- TSC Certificate of Completion
