Welcome to the Substitute Teacher Program!

Course Description

This is a 12-hour course. An exploration of the role of the substitute, including identification of student needs, behavior modification and classroom management, teaching methodologies, school personnel relationships, mandated state standards, and growth and development of students.

Students Will

  • Explain the complex duties of short and long-term substitute assignments
  • Identify teaching methodologies and classroom management techniques for different student levels compile strategies for creating a developmentally appropriate learning environment
  • Identify state standards
  • Receive an TSC Certificate of Completion
