Welcome to the Structural Welding Program!
Course Description
The welding program is designed to prepare students with in-depth training and skills for entry-level employment in a wide variety of careers as a welder in light or heavy fabrication, construction, and manufacturing. Training focuses on welding theory and application to provide essential skills in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) in all positions, which includes flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead techniques with T-joint and V-groove plates. The course also covers Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) in all positions with a T-joint plate. Carbon Arc Gouging, Oxy-Acetylene/Beveling, Plasma Arc Cutting/Beveling, and Shearing will be taught as well. The student will receive an OSHA 10 Safety Certification as well as a Certificate of Completion, and, if they pass the final AWS D1.1 test, a 3F (vertical) AWS Certification.
Students Will
- earn NCCER credentials,
- receive an Occupational Skills Award after completion of 160 hours, and
- receive a TSC Certificate of Completion.
