Mathematics and Science (MSC)

Welcome to the Mathematics & Science Department at Texas Southmost College! Dedicated faculty and staff are ready to prepare students to achieve their future goals. The department’s mission is guided by its commitment to provide high-quality instruction and learning opportunities for all students.

Mathematics courses provide students with a fundamental groundwork in both science and non-science programs. Math is an essential part of everyday learning, and it is instrumental in the completion of virtually every program offered at TSC. The Mathematics subdivision also provides students with innovative and applied knowledge through high-quality instruction, entwining traditional instructional methods with the latest software applications.

Natural science courses also provide students with a foundation in science and non-science programs. Courses represent an array of disciplines, including biology, chemistry, and physics. The program is dedicated to providing students with innovative and applied knowledge as they enroll in proactive laboratories, such as anatomy and physiology and microbiology, which involve hands-on instruction and practical techniques useful in science-based careers. These courses are essential, especially for programs in the medical disciplines, such as Nursing, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Medical Laboratory Technology, and Emergency Medical Science. Graduates may pursue four-year degrees that will allow for additional opportunities in the scientific community, including health care, and education.
