This welding program is designed to prepare students with in-depth training and skills for entry-level employment in various careers as a welder in light or heavy fabrication, construction, and manufacturing. Training focuses on the theory and application to provide essential skills in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) in all positions, which includes flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead techniques with T-joint and V-groove plates. It also covers Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) in all positions with a T-joint plate. Carbon Arc Gouging, Oxy-Acetylene/Beveling, Plasma Arc Cutting/Beveling, and Shearing will also be taught. The student will receive an OSHA 10 Safety Certification and a Certificate of Completion, and if they pass the final AWS D1.1 test, a 3F (vertical) AWS Certification.
Entry-level welders earn, on average, $18 per hour or $36,720 annually.
