IDEA Riverview Students Explore Career Pathways at TSC Summer Camp

Texas Southmost College welcomed students from IDEA Riverview for a dynamic, three-day career exploration summer camp at the college’s International Technology, Education, Business and Commerce (ITEC) Center on Monday, June 2, 2025. The event provided hands-on learning experiences and early exposure to in-demand career pathways across a variety of technical and professional fields.

Throughout the camp, students were divided into rotating groups and guided through a series of activities led by TSC staff and instructors from departments including Allied Health, Construction Technology, Industrial Mechanics & Maintenance Technology (IMMT), Computer Science, and Cybersecurity.

Little Athletes Take the Field at TSC’s Annual Scorpion Youth Soccer Camp

Excited voices rang out across Scorpion Field as, for the second year in a row, Texas Southmost College hosted its three-day Scorpion Youth Soccer Camp, bringing young athletes together for skill-building, teamwork, and fun on the field.
Designed to help children strengthen core athletic skills like endurance, coordination, and communication, the camp gave participants an opportunity to actively engage in a variety of soccer-focused drills and exercises led by some of the most dedicated athletes in the community.

Career-Ready and Proud: TX ACE High School Graduates Recognized for Certification Success

In a celebration of ambition, early achievement, and future promise, students from five Brownsville Independent School District (BISD) high schools were recognized during a special ceremony on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Texas Southmost College’s Performing Arts Center.

The students participated in the newly launched 2024-2025 STRONGER Out-of-School-Time (OST) Initiative, a transformative program designed to empower high school students in grades 9-12 through career-focused workforce training and critical mental health support. Funded through the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act under the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Program, also known as Texas ACE, the initiative creates early exposure to industry pathways while addressing students’ holistic development.

TSC Spring Commencement Celebrates Graduates, Including Dual-Credit Trailblazers

A milestone moment for hundreds of students took place as Texas Southmost College (TSC) held a trio of Spring Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the Jacob Brown Auditorium.

A total of 816 graduates walked the stage to receive their diplomas and certificates in front of their proud families and loved ones. Among the hundreds of graduates were dual-credit students from 18 local high schools, earning their college credentials before even finishing high school.

Industry Partners Gather at ITEC Center for Productive Meet and Greet Session

Texas Southmost College (TSC) welcomed representatives from its various industry partners to the ITEC Center on Thursday, May 9, 2025 for the Business, Engineering, Architecture and Technology (BEAT) Industry Partner Meet and Greet. The event was TSC’s way of showing appreciation for the different industries who have contributed to helping enhance the various Workforce Training and Continuing Education programs, ensuring that students in those programs are learning the skills to fully prepare them once they enter the workforce.
