Institutional Effectiveness & Educational Technology

Statement of Purpose

The Department of Institutional Effectiveness and Educational Technologies coordinates Texas Southmost College’s strategic planning, institutional research, compliance and accreditation, federal and state reports, and assessment initiatives. The department is comprised of five offices: Office of Research, Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment, Educational Technologies and Online Learning, the Digital Library, and the Centers of Academic Excellence. The department strives to provide faculty and staff with professional development opportunities in andragogy, course design, learner experience development, and innovative technology implementation. The department is also committed to fostering student success by offering in-person and online tutoring services, as well as an in-person computer center. The Digital Library plays a pivotal role in achieving the mission, facilitating innovative learning opportunities for individuals across their entire educational lifecycle, encompassing academic degrees, workforce programs, continuing education, customized corporate training, and leisure learning. Together, the offices are dedicated to transforming communities and nurturing academic excellence, preparing students for a brighter future
