TSC Soccer vs Angelina College: Scorpions Set for NCJAA Region 14 Clash

The Texas Southmost College soccer programs return to NJCAA Region 14 action on Thursday, Sept. 26, as TSC soccer vs Angelina College highlights the day’s matchups.

The Scorpions women’s team will kick off at 2 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 4:30 p.m., both away from home in Lufkin, Texas.

Men’s Soccer: Scorpions Travel to Lufkin for Region 14 Battle

The Scorpions men’s soccer team faces a tough test in Angelina College, who comes into the match Ranked No. 16 with a 4-1-1 record. The Angelina College Roadrunners are riding high after a 2-0 victory over nationally ranked Blinn College.

TSC has been hard at work preparing for the challenge, with Coach Mario Zamora leading high-intensity sessions throughout the week.

“We’re focused on building momentum and fighting for every point,” Zamora said. “Every game matters.”

Zamora added that he’s been impressed with the team’s commitment:
“The boys are pushing themselves every day in practice. Their work ethic has been incredible, and I know they’re ready to bring that same energy into the game.”

The Scorpions will need to match Angelina’s energy and execution, as both programs look to climb the Region 14 standings in pursuit of postseason spots.

Women’s Soccer: Texas Southmost College Faces N0. 16 Ranked Angelina College

The Scorpions women’s team heads into one of its toughest challenges yet, facing an Angelina College squad ranked No. 16 nationally. The Angelina College Lady Roadrunners hold a 5-1-1 conference record and are coming off back-to-back wins against ranked opponents, defeating No. 14 Tyler Junior College and No. 19 Blinn College.

Head Coach Jesus Villareal said he expects his experienced players to step up and lead the way.

“Our veteran players know how to handle these moments, and I’m confident they’ll rise to the occasion.”

Despite the challenge, the Scorpions have shown they can compete with top programs, highlighted by their earlier draw against then-No. 8 Trinity Valley. Friday’s matchup provides another opportunity to measure themselves against one of the best teams in the nation.
