Texas Southmost College will host a Scorpion I.D. Soccer Camp on Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 9 AM to 1 PM at the TSC Scorpion Field. The camp is designed to scout and evaluate participants for their athletic suitability to play soccer at a collegiate level.

This Fall semester, TSC officially launched the inaugural season for their new National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) men’s and women’s soccer teams. With the season concluding in late October, the team shifted their focus to recruitment efforts.

A key recruitment strategy is to be on the lookout for new talent, and soccer camps like the one hosted by the Scorpions give valley high school students an opportunity to show what they’ve got.

“This I.D. camp is designed for us to help us get a good look at several new athletes and identify any standout talent for our upcoming seasons,” said Texas Southmost College Scorpions head coach Mario Zamora. “We want to continue identifying and recruiting the best of the best within the RGV. That’s our goal here.”

Eligible participants must be students from 9th through 12th grade, and there will be a $20 registration fee.
