Texas Southmost College, in collaboration with Texas A&M University Higher Education Center and the Port of Brownsville, hosted the Maritime Business & Port Careers Exploration Camp from July 7–10, 2025, an immersive, multi-day experience that introduced local high school students to career opportunities in one of the region’s most essential industries.

A generous $20,000 donation was presented to Texas Southmost College’s nursing program this week, reinforcing the community’s ongoing investment in the future of local healthcare. The contribution, donated directly by local philanthropist and retired businessman Steven De la Garza, was officially awarded during a special check presentation ceremony held at the TSC International Technology, Education and Commerce Center (ITECC) on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

Texas Southmost College welcomed students from across the Rio Grande Valley on Friday, July 11, 2025, for the first session of this year’s Project Pipeline Camp, a national architecture summer camp designed to introduce students to careers in architecture through hands-on learning and mentorship.

This summer, a dedicated group of students from Hanna Early College High School took their first major steps into the medical field by completing clinical rotations at South Texas Rehabilitation Hospital. The students recently earned their Patient Care Technician (PCT) certifications through the TX ACE Stronger OST Initiative, a program made possible through a strategic partnership between Texas Southmost College and local BISD schools.
