Juan Jose De Leon Jr., better known as J.J. De Leon, has served on the Texas Southmost College Board of Trustees since elected in 2018. As a TSC graduate, he understands—first-hand—how the community college represents a profound opportunity for all students to have access to high quality, affordable education.
“TSC serves a Hispanic community with strong family ties,” De Leon said, “and I believe that we, as a comprehensive community college, can and should provide a cost-effective education that offers a pathway to an even brighter future for our students and communities.”

The robotics team at Perkins Middle School in Brownsville recently won first place at the 2021 First Tech Challenge robotics competition and the Collins Aerospace Innovate Award.

Kayla Uribe was one of the 28 cadets that graduated on June 12, 2021 from TSC’s Criminal Justice Institute. She has already been hired by the Harlingen Police Department and upon completing and passing her licensing exam later in June, she will begin to protect and serve the residents of that community.
Texas Southmost College Trustee and Past Board Chair, Adela Garza, has served on the college’s Board of Trustees for the last 12 years and is helping lead TSC into a new era of growth and prosperity.
