Faculty Spotlight: Manuel Gavito
Radiologic Technology Program Director Manuel Gavito has had his share of success over the past 40 years while teaching at Texas Southmost College, but nothing has been more gratifying to him than to see about 600 of his students graduate with an associate degree and go on to successful and prosperous careers in the healthcare industry.
Student Profile: Joseph Laulom
Working 12-hour shifts, seven days a week, being far from home for days and weeks at a time while working for a national sporting goods company eventually took a toll on Joseph Laulom and his family. He lost touch with his parents and when he finally had a chance to come up for air, he realized that his father’s health was failing and his sisters were already in high school, and dating.

Hundreds Walk to End Alzheimer’s at TSC
Over 600 community members gathered outside the Texas Southmost College (TSC) Oliveira Student Services Building and participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Nov. 7, 2015 to help raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.
