TSC offers COVID-19 disinfection training to local businesses

In response to the current COVID-19 crisis, Texas Southmost College, in collaboration with the Alliance Safety Council and Workforce Solutions Cameron, has developed a short-term COVID-19 Disinfection Specialist Training program that will be made available to businesses and industry for a safe reopening.

Texas Southmost College’s COVID-19 Disinfection Specialist Training program is being offered to any small businesses in the college’s service area, which includes Cameron and Willacy Counties. The class begins May 25, 2020.

Texas Southmost College alumnus Raul Silva is helping COVID-19 patients in New York City. He’s currently working at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, a post-COVID-19 center where patients go for rehabilitation after being removed from a ventilator and released from the hospital.

Raul Silva is a Texas Southmost College Registered Nursing alumnus who has dedicated his career to helping others, and for the past month has been at the COVID-19 epicenter in New York.

The Texas Southmost College Board of Trustees in Brownsville unanimously approved a comprehensive care package recently, including a full or partial waiver of tuition and fees for six hours of summer courses for all Texas residents.
