TSC offers free transit service to students during Spring 2019

The free transit service is a pilot program between TSC, Brownsville Metro, and the City of Brownsville.

“We are pleased to collaborate with Brownsville Metro and the City of Brownsville to provide the transit service pilot program to our students this semester,” TSC President Jesús Roberto Rodríguez said.

Brownsville Metro Route 14 has been extended to provide the free transit service to TSC students during the spring 2019 semester. Transit service runs every 30 minutes, Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Fridays and Saturdays, the service runs from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The service will end on May 16, 2019.

TSC students can use Route 14 and all fixed route services free of charge with the presentation of a valid TSC Student ID.

“The City of Brownsville values and supports educational opportunities within our community,” Brownsville Metro Director Norma Zamora said. “We’re thrilled to partner with Texas Southmost College to provide safe, reliable transportation to the community as they work to achieve their goals.”
