TSC men’s soccer club defeats IWU in inaugural match

Soccer PlayerAlexis Anzures notched a hat trick to lead the Scorpions to victory in their inaugural match and home opener.

Sebastian Benavidez made Scorpions men’s soccer club history by scoring the home side’s first goal in the opening minutes of the match. Benavidez added a second goal to his tally in the second half.

Ricardo Vidal scored before the end of the first half to give the Scorpions a 3-1 lead going into half time.

Eduardo Rojas closed out the scoring when he notched TSC’s seventh goal of the game to give the Scorpions a 7-1 lead.

IWU’s lone score came in the first half by Emmanuel Alvizo.

Soccer Player Kicking BallThe TSC men’s soccer club participates in the Texas Collegiate Soccer League (TCSL), an affiliate of the National Intramural and Recreation Sports Association (NIRSA). The club competes in the South Developmental Conference that includes the University of Incarnate Word, the University of Texas-San Antonio, the University of Houston and Prairie View A&M University.

All home games are played at Scorpion Field, located behind the TSC Recreation Center.
