TSC’s record-breaking enrollment in fall 2017 was a 22.89 percent overall increase over the fall 2016 semester.
“The increase in this fall’s enrollment is a continued reflection of the importance of a community college like TSC in our community,” Dr. Jesus Roberto Rodriguez, TSC President said. “Our community is understanding the value of earning an associate degree and is making TSC their destination of choice in the Lower Rio Grande Valley to pursue their education. TSC is helping students gain valuable skills that open the door to a rewarding career and gives them the ability to continue to pursue their education.”
The college’s dual enrollment saw the largest enrollment jump as it reached 1,073 students in fall 2017, a 157.93 percent increase over the previous fall.
TSC’s early college high school enrollment also saw a significant increase as it reached 1,327 students this fall, a 26.86 percent increase over fall 2016.
The college’s on-campus enrollment reached 3,821 students in fall 2017, a 6.14 percent increase over the previous fall.
Since TSC re-opened in fall 2013, the college’s enrollment has increased 69.37 percent.
