Last fall, TSC surpassed the 5,000-student enrollment mark for the first time since the college re-opened in fall 2013. TSC enrolled 5,051 students in the fall 2016 semester.
TSC’s new record enrollment for spring 2017 was a 6.8 percent aggregate increase from the fall and a 9.26 percent aggregate increase over the previous spring.
“This spring’s record enrollment continues to reinforce the reason why a community college like TSC is so vital to the economic growth and success of our community,” said TSC Interim President Mike Shannon. “It’s essential for our community to have an affordable option to pursue a higher education and TSC’s mission is to provide opportunities for open access to a quality education.”
The college’s dual and early college high school enrollment also saw an increase as it reached 2,178 students in spring 2017, a 50.4 percent increase over the previous semester.
“We just set an enrollment record last fall and we’re thrilled that we continue to reach new milestones by breaking the previous mark with this spring’s record enrollment,” said TSC Interim Vice President of Student Services Alejandro Salinas. “We’ve had a great response from the community and we’re proud to have the opportunity to help our students reach their dreams of achieving a higher education and a better future for their families.”
