The Spring 2016 GEM recipients were: Architecture Instructor Dr. Murad Abusalim, Division of Humanities Administrative Assistant Daniela Canales, STEM Instruction Assistant July Enriquez, Building Maintenance Worker David Ramos and Director of Admissions and Records Alex Salinas.
“It felt great to know that all the hard work we put in doesn’t go unnoticed,” said Salinas. “I am very fortunate to have a great team that feels the same way I do, which is helping our students succeed.”
“I am appreciative and proud that my hard work and dedication is acknowledged and noticed,” added Canales.
The GEM awards are awarded to select faculty and staff members that embody the values of teamwork and motivation essential to TSC.
About Texas Southmost College
Originally established in 1926, Texas Southmost College currently offers the first two years toward a bachelor’s degree, along with career and technical education leading to certificates and associate degrees, college preparatory studies to prepare students for college-level work, workforce training, and continuing education. Recently selected as a Bright Spot by the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, TSC offers 53 programs of study leading to an associate degree or certificate. TSC became independently operational in the fall of 2013, after engaging in a 20-year contractual arrangement with a public university.
