TSC’s record-breaking enrollment in spring 2018 was a 25 percent overall increase from the spring 2017 semester.
“At a time when enrollment at other colleges has tapered off or fallen flat, Texas Southmost College continues to demonstrate sustainable growth thanks to a supportive board of trustees, dedicated students, and the hard work of faculty and staff,” Dr. Jesus Roberto Rodriguez, TSC President said. “TSC is providing our community with a high-quality education that is close to home, and that leads to rewarding careers. In the Lower Rio Grande Valley, the community is responding by making TSC their destination of choice to pursue a higher education.”
The college’s dual enrollment saw the largest enrollment jump as it reached 1,466 students in spring 2018, a 171 percent increase over the previous spring.
TSC’s early college high school enrollment also saw a significant increase as it reached 1,888 students this spring, a 15 percent increase over spring 2017.
The college’s on-campus enrollment reached 3,385 students in spring 2018, a 5.25 percent increase over the previous spring.
