Online Student Services

Online students can find the TSC chat feature on any webpage on the TSC website. This chat feature allows online students to chat with a TSC helpdesk representative who can answer their general questions or guide them to the appropriate person or web page. At the closure of every chat session, students will receive an email with a transcript of the chat and an opportunity to give feedback on their experience using the chat feature.

Testing Center
The TSC Testing Center is TSC’s registered testing site for the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) examination, which assesses students’ English language arts and math skills prior to college enrollment. In addition, the Testing Center offers testing opportunities for the Nursing Entrance Exam, Credit by Exam, Pearson VUE, proctored testing, and opportunities for remote testing.

Academic Advising Services
The mission of Academic Advising is to provide the knowledge, guidance, and support necessary to empower students to reach their educational goals, through innovative programs and services that effectively assist students in making informed decisions. All students are encouraged to seek advising before beginning the registration process to explore program options and learn about -program requirements and course prerequisites. Students can reach out to a College Enrollment Coach if they are a first-time college student or a Student Success Coach if they are currently enrolled as a student to book a virtual appointment. Advising is required for:

  • All first-time college students, including those who have earned college dual enrollment credit as high school students.
  • Transfer college students with fewer than nine (9) earned college semester credit hours.
  • Students on academic probation or dismissal.
  • Students who need college preparatory (developmental education) courses.

Texas Southmost College makes a concerted effort to ensure that every student has access to mental health services. All counseling services are confidential. The Counseling Services Office also provides Title IX and Drug and Alcohol Awareness events throughout the year. Access to counseling services is provided on the TSC Campus and virtually through email, virtual conferencing, and the chat feature.

Student Accessibility Resources
Texas Southmost College promotes equal accessibility, without barriers, to college programs, resources, activities, and events for all students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the general public. For students with disabilities, reasonable accommodations are made that allow the individual student to have equal access at TSC. Additionally, all online and hybrid course content is put through an accessibility checker to ensure ADA compliance for accessibility.
