Online Academic Support

TSC Tutoring
TSC Learning Labs offer online students tutoring services through Brainfuse to provide 24/7 synchronous and asynchronous online tutoring. Brainfuse online tutoring services are available for all online and hybrid courses and can be accessed through the Canvas Learning Management System. The TSC Learning Lab webpage offers online students various tutorial videos on best practices for learning remotely and for remote tutoring services, either by Brainfuse tutors or TSC peer tutors. In addition, online students can visit the virtual walk-in feature for any general question they may have about TSC.

TSC Digital Library
TSC Digital Library offers online students access to a robust digital collection and a breadth of library and learning resources services, including instruction in the use of these resources and access to expert librarians to assist with research and other scholarly activities. The digital collection is subdivided by subject, providing evidence of the breadth of disciplines and specialties available to students in all TSC programs. Students can also schedule remote sessions with the TSC Librarian through chat, email, or video call. The TSC Librarian can also share applications to provide virtual assistance.

On the occasion when desired articles are not available in full-text in the database and are not held by the TSC Digital Library, students may order these articles through Interlibrary Loan via the library’s website free of charge.

In addition to Interlibrary Loan, students and faculty can access public and academic library collections via the TexShare program. TexShare provides access to 68 databases, most of which are full-text. TexShare is a consortium of Texas Libraries run by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC), which provides different library services, such as databases, reciprocal borrowing, Interlibrary Loan protocols, courier services, and grants. TSC is a full participant in the TexShare program, which allows online students to borrow material from other participating libraries throughout the state of Texas.
