Texas Southmost College (TSC) marked a historic milestone on Friday, August 29, as the Women\u2019s and Men\u2019s Cross Country teams competed in their first official meet at the <\/span>Seashore Invitational<\/b>, hosted by <\/span>Texas A&M University\u2013Corpus Christi<\/b>. This event not only represents the debut of a newly formed TSC team but also celebrates the return of intercollegiate athletics to the college through the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).<\/span><\/p>\n A New Era of Scorpion Athletics<\/b><\/p>\n The launch of the Cross Country program signals a new era for TSC Athletics and adds to the excitement of bringing sports back to the campus community. As one of the newly created NJCAA sports for the college, Cross Country offers students the opportunity to compete at a high level, represent the Scorpions with pride, and inspire future athletes across the Rio Grande Valley.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThis is an amazing time for Texas Southmost College,\u201d said TSC Crosscountry Coach, Basilio Mendoza. \u201cBringing athletics back gives our students and our community something to rally behind, and we\u2019re proud to see our student-athletes compete in their first-ever meet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Strong Debut at the Seashore Invitational<\/b><\/p>\n The Scorpions made their presence felt in Corpus Christi, delivering impressive results in their inaugural competition. The <\/span>Men\u2019s Cross Country team raced to a 2nd Place finish<\/b>, while the <\/span>Women\u2019s team claimed 3rd Place overall<\/b> in a competitive field of regional programs.<\/span><\/p>\n For the runners, it was the culmination of months of preparation and training.
