Last season was good for Texas Southmost College\u2019s club soccer team…but this time around, they are aiming for greatness.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In its first game of the season, TSC took down South\u00a0Texas\u00a0College\u00a0by the\u00a0eye-popping\u00a0score of 10-0.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

TSC proved they know how to fill the net with seven different goal scorers\u00a0finding the scoresheet.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Pablo Perez\u00a0led\u00a0the way with a hat trick, three goals, and former Brownsville Lopez standout Jose \u2018Chevy\u2019\u00a0Echaverria\u00a0put two in the net.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Mario Zamora is entering his third season as the team\u2019s coach. In 2019 they reached nationals, in 2020 the season was canceled and last season they reached regionals against some strong competition\u00a0from Division I schools. Coach Zamora\u00a0was a TSC soccer player himself when he was in college. He feels a strong connection and pride in leading this group of Scorpions.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe had a really good pre-season, so the team was anxious to play our first game as a team,\u201d\u00a0Soccer Coach\u00a0Zamora said. \u201cSeems like it\u2019s a great connection with the team, a lot of communication as well.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

TSC will bring the energy to\u00a0Scorpion\u00a0Field, behind the recreation center, this Saturday at 3\u00a0p.m.\u00a0for the home opener\u00a0against Trinity University.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cOur game on Saturday should be a really good game,\u201d Zamora said. \u201cWe beat that school 5-4 last season. It went back and forth with goals. Now they are coming here to our place so we\u2019re expecting to put on a good show.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Last season was good for Texas Southmost College\u2019s club soccer team...but this time around, they are aiming for greatness.<\/p>
