Opportunity youth can qualify for full financial assistance in our Building & Construction Trades Courses
Opportunity youth are men and women between the ages of 18-24 who are out of school and out of work. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S., and men must be enrolled in selective services (a 5-minute process which can be completed here).
Courses Eligible for Funding
Forklift Operator
This 20-hour course will prepare students to operate a forklift in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety standards. Upon completion of the program, students completing this program will be OSHSA Certified.
Industrial Scaffolding
This 80-hour fast-track training course prepares students for the ISC certification. Students will identify, inspect, erect, dismantle, rack and stack the most common industrial scaffolding systems including the Cup Lock, Pin Lock, Excel and Safway systems.
Plumbing
This 160-hour, 14-week course prepares students to apply calculations related to the plumbing trade, proper hand and power tool usage, and standard industry safety practices. Learn how to cut, measure, join and support various types of piping, pipe valves, and pipe hanging systems.
Electrical
This 160-hour course provides individuals with the hands-on experience required for a long-term career as an electrician. Students learn to install electrical systems in structures, install wiring and other electrical components, such as circuit breakers panels, switches, and lighting fixtures.
