Intercollegiate college athletics is making a comeback in the Lower Rio Grande Valley, as Texas Southmost College rejoins the National Junior College Athletics Association and launches men and women’s soccer for the Fall 2023 semester. The NJCAA approved TSC’s application to join the league at their October 20 meeting.
TSC President Jesús Roberto Rodríguez said it is the perfect time for the college to expand into NJCAA men and women’s soccer.

Not everything goes according to plan. The stage was set on Saturday for a close match to determine the winner of the Texas Collegiate Soccer League Men’s South Conference.
Texas Southmost College’s club soccer team had other plans…dominate from start to finish. Scorpion field was all TSC all the time on Saturday as they jumped out to an early lead and never looked back against its rivals from UTRGV.
Now TSC knows they’ll be qualified for the regional tournament, the playoffs in a few weeks in San Marcos.
