Student Services recognized Intramural & Recreational Sports Specialist Tiffany Hern\u00e1ndez, Testing Specialist Dulce Mart\u00ednez and Financial Aid Specialist Marisol Guti\u00e9rrez.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt really good,\u201d said Mart\u00ednez, when asked about receiving the award. \u201cI\u2019m very grateful that all our hard work at TSC is being acknowledged and, ultimately, it\u2019s always a team effort.\u201d<\/p>\n

Student Services initiated the Sting\u2018em Hard Awards as an employee recognition program. The bi-monthly recognition will be awarded to three staff members in Admissions and Records,<\/p>\n

Financial Aid, and Student Life in appreciation for displaying initiative, commitment to team spirit and a tendency for going the extra mile. The directors of each area select one staff member every two months to be recognized.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe really want to show the employees that their work matters to us, but more than anything, that the work that they do contributes to the overall success of the institution,\u201d said TSC Director of Student Life Vicenta Fern\u00e1ndez. \u201cThey should be proud. This is an award that is well-deserving for them because of their efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n

About Texas Southmost College<\/strong>
Originally established in 1926, Texas Southmost College currently offers the first two years toward a bachelor\u2019s degree, along with career and technical education leading to certificates and associate degrees, college preparatory studies to prepare students for college-level work, workforce training, and continuing education. Recently selected as a Bright Spot by the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, TSC offers 53 programs of study leading to an associate degree or certificate.
