Defeating Deception in Interviews

March 31 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Most police officers engage in interviews
suspecting the interviewee was deceptive but it
takes decades before one can truly trust his gut and
act on what he or she has been told about when a
person is being deceptive. Mr. Parker brings
decades of experience interviewing people as a
criminal investigator and fraud investigator where
success and getting to the truth meant knowing
when and where to dig for details. Understanding
where to dig means knowing when an interviewee is
being deceptive. This class provides authentic
confirmation of verbal and non-verbal cues you’ve
read or heard about that Mr. Parker knows can be
depended on.

Knowing what verbal and non-verbal indicators of
deception can be counted on is a necessary talent in
today’s law enforcement. Whether interviewing
victims or suspects, understanding deception is
essential. And as we all know, we may only get one
chance to interview a suspect, making the most of
that opportunity is crucial.
