Student Representatives for THECB Advisory Committees
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) is accepting nominations for the appointment of non-voting student representatives to THECB advisory committees for 2014-2016.
The THECB’s mission is to work closely with policymakers and education stakeholders to develop and implement a higher education framework focused on initiatives to:
- Dramatically increase the number of postsecondary completions;
- Keep college affordable and accessible for all Texans; and
- Align higher education outcomes with current and future workforce needs.
Recognizing the benefits of inviting members of the higher education community to share their knowledge, perspective, and experience concerning diverse issues of policy and procedure, the THECB values open communication between students and the THECB on policy issues and decisions that affect student’s lives. Student representation on the THECB and on advisory committees gives students a strong voice in higher education policy development.
