Bridges Across Texas – Lois Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation
The Bridges Across Texas (BAT) partnership is funded by the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) grant program through the National Science Foundation (NSF). TSC is working with Texas Tech University, Dallas College, South Plains College, and the University of North Texas at Dallas to provide programs, resources, and academic advising, tutoring, mentoring, social and peer support to students pursuing a STEM degree. Some scholars will have the opportunity to become a paid mentor/tutor to provide support to future STEM students and to promote a STEM community.

Who is eligible to apply?
Applicants to the BAT-LSAMP program must meet all the following requirements to be considered:
- U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or permanent resident of the U.S.
- declared STEM major (biology, chemistry, information technology, or mathematics)
- full-time undergraduate (at least 12 credit hours per semester)
- minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
Students from underrepresented groups in STEM are strongly encouraged to apply.
What do I have to do as a BAT-LSAMP scholar?
Participation in the BAT-LSAMP program requires students to maintain good academic standing, attend required events, and engage in projects/research that will earn them experience and enhance their curriculum vitae.
